Today we saw the Neurosurgeon.....he is a fantastic surgeon....did a better than great job on getting out all the visible tumor.....but he might as well change his name to Dr. Doom. Angela was in tears after her post-op checkup when Dr. Doom gave her his usual you might have a year or two......you might want to make a video so the kids will know that you loved them......take some family trips... make some memories..... enjoy everyday as if you were dying... yadda... yadda... yadda. We all know this is going to be an uphill battle, but with God all things are possible. This thing is beatable. I'm going with Duke's motto "At Duke there is hope!" and Mary Bird Perkin's staff "We have cured people with this." She was in such despair she didn't think she could go through with the radiation treatments. I gave her a Zannex to calm down. While we were waiting for her radiation therapist (Mike Miranda.....incredible bedside manner...great guy!) to come get her, a FrenchQuarterMarket.com customer called on her cell phone from California. I told Sandy that Angela was getting ready to go into a treatment; and I ask could I take a message. She told me she had heard about Angela's tumor and just wanted offer some words of encouragement. She said she has a friend that was diagnosed with a tumor and given a year to live. That was six years ago! Instead of taking a message I gave the phone to Angela..... this was her Angel... her ray of hope ....just at the perfect moment. After Sandy's call Angela's hope began rebounding. The therapist came and took her to radiation.
While I was in the lobby waiting for her a volunteer came up to me and offered me a cup of coffee. I accepted and she began telling me that she volunteers her time at Mary Bird Perkins because she wants to repay the kindness and help that was given her by the physicians and the staff of Mary Bird Perkins. Her 4 year old daughter was diagnosed with brain cancer and given 5 years to live. That was 33 years ago! Her 37 year old daughter is doing just fine. I asked her to please tell her story to Angela, which she gladly did. Two Angels in one day! Angela and I both believe God was telling her "Don't give up - I am with you". Angela's spirit is one of hope again.
THANKS everyone for your prayers and kind words of encouragement. She reads every post. Please keep praying and encouraging her.... post often .... your posts really mean a lot.

Angela, I just read that you had a difficult day, but as your adoring husband told of the good news from those angels, he also lets us know of your tremendous strength...and in the Halloween pictures posted of you and your family, I can see it in your face!! Girl, you look really good!! And your children are adorable! Angela, please know that you are in our prayers throughout the day and during the night hours when I am awake also. At 3:00 daily, Craig and I pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy for you and others we know in need of prayer. God is with you through it all. God bless you, little woman. I love your smile in those pics. I'll bring food to you all on Monday aroung 4:30-5:00. If you need anything, please call me. 694-2135. Love and God bless, Maureen
Hey Angela....
As I call those doctors...Doom and Gloom!!! They are just doing there job but he probably does not know too much about the Divine Physician who is going to help you get through this storm. You have many prayer warriors out here that are storming heaven for you. A few years ago, during a retreat I was on, it was clearly revealed to me that there are NO coincidences in life... I refer to them as Godincidences. It is very clear by David's blog that the two stories you heard was the Holy Spirit reminding you who is in charge here!!! How awesome to be able to experience that!!!
As I wrote in the last blog..."I will praise you in the storm...every tear I cry..." Angela....I cannot even imagine the sadness you felt yesterday but it is clear God is with you. I pray that today is filled with only happy thoughts!!!
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. James 1:2-3
Lots of Love and PRAYERS,
Lowry
Angela and David, I have been following your peaks and valleys through this blog. First and foremost you are in my prayers often and I have added you to my church prayer list. Be assured that in Birmingham Alabama you have no less than 300 people praying for you. I have also sent emails to my step daughter in Dallas and whoever else will listen. God knows your plight. His strength is made perfect in weakness. I know that first hand as I had my own life battle a few years ago. And those 3 little angels will keep you going. Mothers never give up. I worried I wouldn't see my kids grow up, now they are 20, 17 and 13. God will lift you up and carry you when you cannot walk He will see you all the way through. He did for me.
And let me say surgeons tend to be pesimists. Working with them every day you see that some have a god complex. They would be hard pressed to have faith in miraculous healing which happens every day. Trust your oncologist, he sees the other side. He has seen people get well against the odds. I work with a girl whose brother has fought the same fight as you, (brain ca), for several years. Each time he is seen by his doc, they cannot explain why he is still alive. That truly amazes those of us in the medical field because we know the odds are against such things. Those who believe in the power of our God know better. Trust in him, lean on him, let him hold you and dry your tears. He is there for you and CAN heal you. All the best to you and your family. I pray for you daily and know that God is taking care of you.
God bless you all
Hey Angela,
God is an awesome god and through him all things are possible, remind me sometime to give you my business testimony and how with prayer and belief, the impossible was made possible for me. I guess what I am trying to say...is to listen to that voice that you hear, the small one that comes from somewhere deep inside, the one telling you "I AM WITH YOU AND WILL NEVER FORSAKE YOU". God will never give you more than you can handle, that is something I always tell my self.. and believe in when things seem too much to handle. I am also reminded of a song that is sung in church "One Day at a Time", Take one day at a time, believe in the power of prayer, rejoice because He is the ultimate physician and know that you have people praying for your recovery.
I just got back from setting up at Helen Brett. It was moved from November to October this year. It was a good show but not near the crowd of people as in November. I got my container in of pottery and when you are up to it I want you to come see it. I would love to talk to you, so if you feel like chatting give me a call. I am praying daily for gods blessings for you and family.
P.S. I love all the pictures of the kids in their Halloween outfits. You have a beautiful family. Thanks for keeping us posted.

Hey Angela, Long time no see. You have such a beautiful family!!!!
I have been keeping up with your progress and praying for you and your family. God is so wonderful and powerful that He is going to see you through this. God Bless you all and know that I Love You.
I remember your bubbly smile and the fun and jokes we had at Home Health. I still see that in your smile on those pictures. Keep it up. Love, Brenda Summers 638-3112.
Angela, the Halloween pics are wonderful! Precious children and strong Mama! And remember surgeons are almost always very "Clinical", it's their jobs! Keep watching for those angels which He seems to send just when you need them.
Our Precious Father, give Angela the strength you gave the shepherdboy, David, to fight the giant. strengthen her and give her the faith she needs. Surround her with friends and angels. In Jesus' name, Amen
We love you both and those precious children.
Eugene and Debi
Happy Sunday Angela!!!
As you begin a new week on treatments, always remember....
Jesus said, "Don't be afraid; just believe." Mark 5:36
I hope you are having a great day and feeling alright. What a game last night!!!! That stress is probably not too good for you....really for none of us!!!!
For all you prayer warriors out there....I was thinking when Angela is having a gloomy day, would'nt it be fun for her to read some posts that would make her giggle abit. So, why don't we begin leaving her some jokes. I will start with one now...
Q. What do you get when you cross a snowman with a vampire?
A. Frostbite.
Love,
Lowry
We know so well what you are going through. When Dean was diagnosed with cancer, it was so unreal. Cancer was never suppose to enter our lives, but it did. But praise God, we have the Great Physican who knows more than our earthly physicans. He loves us so much and wants us to trust Him.
Angela, know that we are praying for you as you go through these treatments. We know that it is unpleasant at the time but they will come to an end. And we will celebrate with you on that last day.
David, I know things are hard for you but stay strong. It sounds like you have a great support system and I know if Lucy is there, then you are in good hands.
A friend of mine shared this with me when Dean was first diagnosed and I really like it. "When telling God how big your mountain is, remember to tell your mountain how big your God is!"
We love you all and will continue to lift you up in prayer.
Lynne & Dean
What an amazing woman you are! I don't think there are enough words to describe how much I admire you....your strength......your faith. You are a great mother, wife and an awesome friend! I just wanted to let you know how proud I am of you. Keep pushing!!!
We have been best friends for 40 years and I look very forward to the next 40!!!!
Love you always,
tammy
I asked my students if they knew what a veteran was. Zachary’s hand shot up: “It’s someone who doesn’t eat meat,” he said. When I explained that the correct term was vegetarian, Zachary said, “I didn’t know that animal doctors don’t eat meat
Angela, hope you are having a better week. As scrolled through the msn homepage, what do i see, brain cancer survivor complete nyc marathon. Her doctor is Dr Freidman. There are little bits of hope everywhere. Praying for you daily.
Love Honie
Wow! I just saw the video of the marathon runner with brain cancer. She has the same personality traits as you Angela -- boundless energy, intelligence, and determination. And she even has the same doctor at Duke! There are no coincidences. This is the Holy Spirit at work ... just watch and listen and you can see it around you.
I'm sorry the neurosurgeon got you so upset. You are in good hands at Duke ... THEY are the experts. We pray that God will continue to guide your doctors in your treatment.
The Halloween pictures are so adorable! What a beautiful and blessed family.
Angela, we are praying for you daily and always here if you need anything.
Love,
Charlotte
Hey Angela,
I hope your treatment went the best that it could. I know you could think of a million other things you would rather be doing!!!
Here is your joke for the day...
Q. What do you get from a pampered cow?
A. Spoiled milk.
Have a good evening.
Love,
Lowry
Hi Angela & David,
Wanted you both to know that we are praying for you both up here in Maryland. We are also asking our prayer warriors to pray for you. We have seen first hand the power of prayer. Obviously Dr. Doom has no idea how powerful prayer and the grace and mercy of our God can be. We will pray that God will show Dr. Doom the power of the great Physician. All for his getting the glory!
Blessings and keep Trusting God Every Day! - Dean
Happy Tuesday Angela and family,
I hope you are well this evening. Winter has arrived in Chattanooga!! I hope it is abit warmer in Port Allen.
Here is your joke for the day...
What type of fish swim at night???? Starfish!!
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." Philippians 4:6 He is watching over you and is your biggest cheerleader!!!
Love,
Lowry
