Angela's 45th Birthday

Last night, Angela's sister and a few of her closest friends joined David and Angela for a steak dinner on the occasion of Angela's 45th birthday. The children's sitter, Courtney, took them to Chuck E. Cheese's while the rest of us enjoyed a quiet dinner at their home. The combination of her tumor and her treatment plan has caused Angela to face mounting challenges in the past few months and all of us were concerned as to how well she would handle the evening. Well, it pleases me to tell everyone who reads this blog that it couldn't have gone any better.
Angela joined us all at the head of the table in their main dining room for what turned out to be a great meal highlighted by even better conversation. There was no shortage of funny stories to keep the mood of the evening light and just as the birthday cake was about to be served, Courtney walked in with the kids. The timing was perfect.
Within a 15-day span in December, Alex, Angela and David have birthdays and there is also Christmas... so this is a very busy time of year. But last night was a great evening. And no sooner than were Angela's presents opened, did I receive a phone call to tell me my nephew and his wife had given birth to a baby boy. Just hours later, Steele's nephew and his wife gave birth to a baby girl.

Hey Angela and David,

I am so glad that the party was a "go" and that everyone had a wonderful time. Wishing you a wonderful day.

Love, peace and HOPE,
Lowry

P.S.
A cabbie picks up a nun. She gets into the cab, and the cab driver won't stop staring at her. She asks him why is he staring and he replies, "I have a question to ask you but I don't want to offend you.

She answers, 'My dear son, you cannot offend me. When you're as old as I am and have been a nun a long as I have, you get a chance to see and hear just about everything. I'm sure that there's nothing you could say or ask that I would find offensive."

"Well, I've always had a fantasy to have a nun kiss me."

She responds, "Well, let's see what we can do about that: #1, you have to be single and #2 you must be Catholic."

The cab driver is very excited and says, "Yes, I am single and I'm Catholic too!"

The nun says "OK, pull into the next alley."

He does and the nun fulfills his fantasy. But when they get back on the road, the cab driver starts crying. "My dear child, said the nun, why are you crying?"

"Forgive me sister, but I have sinned. I lied, I must confess, I'm married and I'm Jewish."

The nun says, "That's OK, my name is Kevin and I'm on my way to a Halloween party."

Why are Christmas trees like bad knitters ?
They both drop their needles !

Happy 4th Sunday of Advent,

I hope all of you had a day of rest!! As we anticipate Christmas Day, I wish that you are filled with many Christmas Blessings.

Love, peace and HOPE,
Lowry

P.S. Every Christmas pageant throughout the world has a scene showing Joseph leading Mary into Bethlehem on a donkey. Do you realize what would happen if the Republicans asked for equal time?

Good Sunday Evening Angela and David!
All of you have been on my mind all day today. I came across this verse and I thought it would be appropriate for each of you including Theresa, Diane and many others on this journey with Angela.

"come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

I am thankful for each of you who care for Angela, care for David and care for Alex, Christian and Katherine. May God truly bless each of you and give you the strength needed to care for each other.

Angela, you are well loved and cared for. Thanks be to God!!

Love, peace and HOPE,
Lowry

Hi Angela, I just had to leave word how much I enjoyed getting to play with your 3 precious children at Mom's this weekend. They are just adorable. Alex is so shy and reserved while Christian is all over the place and Kathryn follows Christian's every step! Christian gave several worthy presentations on how to "shake your boodie"! They were a ray of sunshine in our day! Angela, you are thought of and prayed for by so many in Montgomery, Alabama. Just know that you are LOVED by us all.
