A Day in the Park

I spent Friday night at home and the better part of Saturday with the kids at the park. The weather was perfect and so were our host, Susan and Gary Koederitz. They had invited us to enjoy lunch at their house; and then play in the park just a few yards away. As always my wonderful sister (Diane), my niece (Karlie) and one of our many wonderful friends (Steele) helped me keep the crew under control at the park. It felt great to get out and enjoy the kids and the day!

After a full day of playing, Alex wanted to visit his mother. We loaded the kids up and went to visit "Mommy". Alex, Katherine and Christian blew kisses to their mother. Christian even snuggled in bed with her for a moment; and later helped feed his mother a smoothie. Picture this .... Christian is standing on a chair spoon feeding his mother a smoothie. It was wonderful ending to a wonderful day.

Just know, Angela is not in any pain or discomfort. She has let us (me, family, friends, hospice staff) know she is at "peace" with what is happening and is not afraid.

As always thanks for every one's prayers and kind thoughts.

Good Morning David and Angela,

Thanks for the update David. I know your time is precious so I wanted you to know that the update is truly appreciated!
At Mass this morning, of course I was praying for all of you. During the homily, the priest spoke about disciples among us and we need to take time to notice and listen to them. At that time, I thought of Angela and how wonderful it is to have sooo many disciples, sent by God, to take care of her and her family. David, you may not feel like it now but know, in God's eyes, he is so pleased with your constant care of not only Angela but your constant care of your children. All the other disciples in Angela's life is a list that never ends but it begins with David, Theresa, Diane, Tammy, Steele, John Michael, and soooo many more! What a true miracle!

May God pour his blessings among all of you!

Love, peace and HOPE,
Lowry

David thank you so much for the update. What a blessing to know that Angela is at peace. What a blessing. I spent a morning in a beautiful worship service and prayed for your family. Our preacher had much to say but I think what stood out the most is that praying creates changes. That is evident in so many things in my own life. What came to mind regarding your situation is the difference in yours and Angela's attitudes since November. It is very obvious that prayers have changed you both. You are both in such different "places". So many folks are praying and I know without a doubt that God is hearing those prayers. The peace that surrounds you is so evident in your actions, your words, and your treatment of those who surround you. You could not possibly be so loving and kind if you were not at peace. Thank God for the peace that He has given you. An awesome sermon to be sure. An awesome God without a doubt. I am thrilled to know that Angela has come to terms with God's will. Although I, being the human that I am, still pray for healing, whether that be ultimate and God takes her home, or physically, it's up to Him. May God continue to bless you with peace and understanding.

With the Love of our King
Pam

David,

You are a constant source of inspiration. Your last post was so full of love for your wife, your children and that glorious roller coaster thing we call life.

I have only had the opportunity in meeting with you in a work environment. Thank you for sharing your heart and soul with all of us who truly care.

May God continue to provide a source of comfort, of guidance, and to watch over you and your loved ones.

Regards,

Christine Kennedy

Good Evening Flukers,

Thank you as well for the wonderful update. What a great day yesterday! We are all thankful for the good times you are able to enjoy.

I "ditto" the previous posts. What an inspiration you all are to all of us. It's very obvious that the Lord is answering prayers for peace and comfort. We are all thankful to your wonderful friends and for Diane and Teresa who have been your "Aarons" to hold up your arms when you can not hold them up anymore.

What a sweet word picture of Christian and his mother...brought tears to my eyes.

We love you with all our hearts.

Dear David and Angela,

My morning routine includes a trip to the website to keep up with you all. Thanks for writing and keeping everyone in the loop.

The "day in the park" sounds like lots of fun and yes, you defintely need back up to help keep up with three active children.

You all are in my thoughts and prayers daily.

David,
I'm an old college friend of Angela's. Angela actually pulled the "ring" out of my wedding cake ... ask Angela if she remembers that? May God Bless you and your children during this time. My prayers are always with Angela and your family. I am so pleased to hear that Angela is at peace and not in any pain. May God hold you close and give you strength. God Bless, Diane Franklin Dubroc

David,

Wow. What a wonderful post. The other folks were right when they said that your love really shines through in the writings.

I know the park day was good. It is interesting to me that God gave you your friends Susan and Gary, and Diane and Karlie the park to provide peace and fun for your family, and he gave Angela little Christian to feed her. Christian lives up to his name, huh? :)

I hope today brings more memories, hand squeezes and all-around assurance that we all need to be where Angela is.. at peace with understanding that our God, is always at our side.

I love you guys so!

Hi. I am a friend of Clay Ghann's. My husband also is battling GBM. I know Clay has shared this with you.

I felt compelled to let you know my heart breaks for you and your family. BUT... I was so happy to read Angela is in no pain and at peace with this process.

I can not imagine going through this without faith.

Blessings and prayers...Cindy McNeill (wife of Tim, dx 0607)

Good Morning David,

I hope you got some rest last night and you are waking with renewed strength.

My prayer for you David,

Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful, because I come to you for safety. In the shadow of your wings I find protection until the raging storms are over. Psalm 57:1

David, May God bless you as you experience this trial. Know that above all God is in control and that because you face this trial with unbreakable faith you will receive treasures in heavan. He watches every move we make and he knows that your heart is pure and full of love. Fall on him and he will hold you up. How great a God we serve!

1 Peter 1:7
These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.

Angela, God has blessed you so much with his comfort and peace that is beyond our understanding. Rest comfortably and always know that since you have fixed your thoughts upon him he has given you perfect peace. You are beautiful in his sight and he delights in you.

Isaiah 26:3
You will keep in perfect peace
all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!

May the God of Love give you just a glimpse of his glory today. You are continually in my thoughts and prayers. Stay strong!

God bless you both.
In Christ's Love
Pam
