Visit to Duke

I wish I could tell you the news was better ... but it wasn't what we wanted to hear. The tumor is back. The tumor apparently did not respond well to the chemo and radiation treatments. It is very hard to write this right now. We're both pretty upset. Thanks and please continue with your thoughts and prayers.

Angela and David, our love and prayers are with you. So many, many people in Montgomery are praying for you. "I will be with you when you pass through the waters...when you walk through the fire...the flame will not burn you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, and your Savior." Isaiah 43:2-3

Good Evening Angela,

Well, what a day that you have just experienced....words that you wish you could be deaf to. There are no words to say at this time but you MUST know that I will have everyone I know stormin heaven on your behalf.

From what I understand, you will have many decisions to make. I am praying that you and David will know very clearly what is the best decision for you and your family. That our DEAR Lord will open the doors that you need to travel and close the doors that he does not want you to walk. I pray that you will see his answers clearly....they will be there.

Tonight, I pray for a peaceful and restful night tonight. We cannot do anything about tomorrow so enjoy this evening.

Draw your strength from the Lord and his mighty power. Ephesians 6:10

Love and stormin' heaven for you each and every minute,
Lowry

P.S. This story takes place the day after Christmas. The pastor is checking out the church and notices that the baby Jesus is missing from the Christmas crèche. Failing to find the statue inside the church he walks out the front door and notices a small boy walking up the street, hauling a little red wagon behind him. As the boy draws near the priest notices that the baby Jesus is in the little red wagon. So, he asks the boy where did he find the baby Jesus. The boy answers that he took him out of the church a little earlier. When the priest asks why he did that the boy answers: “Before Christmas I was praying fervently that the baby Jesus would send me a red wagon for Christmas and I promised him that if he did so, after Christmas day was over I would take him for a ride around the block.”

P.S.S. Why did the cat put an M in the freezer???
To turn ice into mice!!!!

Love ya!!

Hi Angela...me again...

Since my last post, I have sent out an email requesting everyone I know to lift you up in prayer and I have asked that they forward the request to their friends. My main goal in this request to get everyone in this great country to storm heaven on your behalf.

I just received this response from a very good friend in Orlando. One day, I will tell you her story.

Wow...that is unbelievable.....I am already praying & will continue to and forward the email to everyone I know to pray, too. I know that when things seem hopeless that God can work miracles. This is in His divine plan for Angela’s life and somehow, someway it will bring honor and glory to His name. I know it is hard to imagine, but God has a plan. I am such a strong believer in that! That is the promise I live by daily! I will pray for comfort, strength, wisdom, and guidance for this precious family. Keep me posted.

Sweet Dreams Angela...I am praying for peace for you this evening.

Love ya,
Lowry

Good Morning Tuesday Morning,

As you begin a new day, I wanted to leave you with this..

I sought the Lord and He answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Psalm 34:5

Love and having everyone I know lift you in prayer today....it is a tough battle but with God on your side, you can do it!!

I am so sorry to hear of your news. We are all praying for you and your precious family. I can't even imagine what you and your family are going through, but please know that we are all praying for you and that God gives you the strength and faith to help you and your family during such a time of distress.
As I was praying this morning for you, I ask God to help me give words of comfort to you. I asked God that when I open my Bible to let the words just be there on the page. This is what He found for me to deliever to you. It was the first page that I open to and my eyes just fell on it.

"When I call , answer me, O my just God, you who relieve me when I am in distress; Have pity on me, and hear my prayer. Know the Lord does wonders for his faithful one the Lord will hear me when I call upon him. Offer just sacrifices, and trust in the Lord."
Psalms 4:2-6

David,

Kevin and I were so sorry to hear your news. Your whole family remains in our prayers. And, remember, my friend who lives in BR was given the same diagnosis, and is now doing well, cancer-free - many years later! Please call me if we can do anything for you.

Love,

Good Evening Miss Angela,

Well, your day has probably been a whirlwind...actually, the past few days. Anyway, I heard that you have taken charge and called that doctor!!!! Good for you..

Tomorrow is a brand new day with new treatments....I know you are giving this fight all that you have....YOU GO GIRL!!!!

Love and thinking of you,
Lowry

P.S. Like I have said yesterday, I have sent prayer requests out to all I know...here is one of the responses I got today...
God Bless Angela and her family for strength getting through this cancer. Florence and I'll be sure to gather the children tonight for a special intention prayer and rosary.

P.S.S. A new teacher was trying to make use of her psychology courses. She started her class by saying, "Everyone who thinks you're stupid, stand up!" After a few seconds, Little Johnny stood up. The teacher said, "Do you think you're stupid, Little Johnny?"

"No, ma'am, but I hate to see you standing there all by yourself!"

Philippians 4:6-7, "Don't worry about anything; instead pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don't forget to thank Him for His answers. If you do this you will experience God's peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will keep your thoughts and your hearts quiet and at rest as you trust in Christ Jesus."

Romans 10:9, "If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."
God bless.

God bless you and your loved ones. My heart goes out to you regarding the recent news from Duke.

Our God is a Mighty God though, and you are most securely in His hands. He is certainly our refuge and strength. I know that you are a believer and that you trust Him for today and for your tomorrows. I'm thinking of you and calling your name out to God in prayer. I pray for the strength and comfort of you and your loved ones. And, I also pray that you will have a change in spirts and that hope will once again come back to you. I praise God for what He is going to do in your and for you.

Angela, I have never met you but Dean Morris has sent out your link. I wanted to let you know that you are in my prayers and to stay as strong as you can. We don't understand God's plan for you and your life but I do pray that He will continue to lift you and your family up so high that you feel His arms around you. Good Evening Miss Angela!!!

A new day with a new plan with new medications!! You are on a new road...and I hope it does not having any speed bumps!!!

I pray that you are feeling a bit of peace and comfort after you got the wind and everything else knocked out of you at Duke.

I bet you never knew you were going to be a "marathon runner"!!! You have a way to go but YOU GO GIRL!!! You have a lot of cheerleaders!!!

Peace, love and HOPE,
Lowry

P.S.
Little Johnny was in church with his mom for Sunday Mass when he felt a sudden barf attack impending. "Mom, I think I'm going to throw up!" She told him, "I want you to run outside as fast as you can. Run across the lawn and go behind the bushes. You can throw up behind the bushes and nobody will see you." So Little Johnny hauled ass for the door. Less than a minute later, he returned to his seat next to his mom. He had the look of obvious relief on his young face. "Did you make it all the way to the bushes, Johnny?"

"I didn't have to go that far, mom. Just as I got to the front door, I found a box that had a sign on it: FOR THE SICK."

TGIF Angela,

I hope you are finishing up part of the week with the "new" treatment and you are stronger than ever!!!

I am going to try and call you this weekend to check in...

I liked this when I read this...
O God, our refuge and strength, comfort of all who suffer, help me with your power and make me well again. You promised that you would "turn our mourning into dancing." Turn my sorrow into joy, and my weakness into strength, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Love, peace and HOPE,
Lowry
