Though Angela is not able to have visitors any longer, David is. Over the weekend David had a lot of company and I know that it did him a lot of good. We can't say enough about how great the staff has been at The Carpenter House, the hospice operated by St. Joseph's. It's a beautiful facility and for a while this weekend, Angela was the only patient there... so we had the place all to ourselves. Last week David was with Angela at Hospice during the day and would then pick the kids up from school at 5:30 and stay with them at night, so they would have normalcy. This week, however, the game plan right now is for David to stay with Angela around the clock while family members keep the kids. For all of us, this has been a difficult 16 month journey but I think David is holding up well and he does appreciate the company he's been receiving. The Carpenter House is located at the intersection of Airline Highway and Jefferson. If you go down Jefferson towards Airline, you'll see it on your left as you approach Airline. If you go down Airline, you need to take the road to the right which takes you to Jefferson. You can't miss the building; it's huge, obviously brand new and it looks like a white plantation home.
Also, for those of you who have already taken the time to send photos and personal stories of times you spent with Angela, thank you. David has been reading those stories and looking at those photos. You can send your stories and photos to: angelafluker@gmail.com. The stories and photos you submit are going to eventually be included in books we're going to make for Alex, Christian and Katherine to remember their mother. David also goes to this blog several times a day to read the messages that are posted. If you can't make it by to see David in person, feel free to take a moment and post your thoughts and let David know he and his family are in your prayers. Throughout this entire process, David and Angela have gained a lot of strength from the posts and your words of comfort are as important right now as ever.

David,
You, Angela and your children are definitely in our thoughts and prayers. I pray the Lord will give you all the comfort and strength you need to endure this very, very hard time in your life.

David,
You and your family are in my prayers everday.
Do not look forward to changes and chances of this life in fear; rather look to them with full hope that, as they arise, God will deliver you out of them. He has kept you hitherto, do you but hold fast to His dear hand, and He will lead you safely through all things; and, when you cannot stand, He will bear you in His arms. Do not look forward to what may happen tomorrow; the same everlasting Father who cares for you today will take care of you tomorrow and every day. Either He will shield you from suffering, or He will give you unfailing strength to bear it. Be at peace then, and put aside all anxious thoughts and imaginations.

Good Morning David, Angela and faithful friends,
David, I hope you and Angela had a restful night...one of simple peace. I, like many others, would do anything to take all of this pain and suffering away not only from Angela but you, too. However, since I am not in control of that, all I can do is tell you that I pray for all of you, all of the time. When I went to Mass last night, I prayed constantly for the Fluker family. I felt myself wanting to shout out to the entire congregation, pray for the Fluker Family!
David, if you get a chance, when you are talking to Angela, whisper in her ear about the time we drove around the LSU campus in a black limo.
Love, peace and HOPE,
Lowry
P.S. Thanks John Michael for keeping everyone up to date. I know we all appreciate it!
David,
Please know that many prayers are being lifted up for you and your family from Dallas. Members of our Bible study class have been praying along with us and will continue to do so. They are some wonderful prayer warriors.
May God give you strength and peace in great abundance. I give thanks for the loving people in your life and all that they are doing for you right now.
In His Love,
Jill Allor
David,
Terry and I continue to pray for you and Angela. Our small group at church is praying as well for God's peace that passes all understanding to surround you.
Love,
Terry and Jennifer
David,
Although I am not with you and Angela physically, please know that you remain in my heart spiritually always, especially your beautiful children. I thank you so much for allowing our recent visit with Angela. I wish I could have visited more frequently. I want you and your precious family to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers each and everyday. My prayer for you is for strength and courage during this extremely difficult and painful time.

I have so many stories of growing up with Angela...so sweet, always smiling...
we would all pile into our van and my brother, Jay, would chauffeur us to the ice skating rink...we could spin and skate backwards -we thought for sure that made us contenders for the next Olympics...
my parents named her "Bubble Gum" because she always had bubble gum in her mouth 24/7...she taught me that peanut butter gets gum out of your hair...
she was so determined to make something of herself...I was so proud of her when she graduated from LSU...
To my friend, I wish I could ease your pain and suffering...May God Bless you and your family and know that your friends are with you if not physically, we are here in spirit...
Love,
Melissa Clouatre
David, I pray that you find comfort in the fact that God knows your name and he even feels your hurt. He will guide you in your time of despair. I am sure this is a time that you could be angry at God and question him. I don't know that any of us as human beings can comprehend why there are times his will includes tragedy. But he will care for you. Casting Crowns said it best:
Who am I?
That the Lord of all the earth,
Would care to know my name,
Would care to feel my hurt.
Who am I?
That the bright and morning star,
Would choose to light the way,
For my ever wandering heart.
Who am I?
That the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love
And watch me rise again.
Who am I?
That the voice that calmed the sea,
Would call out through the rain,
And calm the storm in me.
Be blessed and find comfort in God's loving arms.
Pam
David,
I enjoyed speaking to Diane yesterday. I look forward to seeing you both later this week. Just hearing her voice brought back memories... and I hope you know how much you, Angela and Diane mean to me. After all... you brought John Michael into my life! You can’t beat that, huh? :)
I hope today was good for you. I know that Angela feels your unending love in your presence, and you are so strong to be there for her. Please let her know I am thinking of her. Especially after seeing Lowry’s post of the black Limo!
Close your eyes, take a deep breath and know that God is always at your side.
Praying for you...
love,
Jayne

David,
My name is Jean Edwards and my sister in law is JJ (I am married to her older brother Frank). Through the years I have known Angela through JJ, and we have shared several lunches together. I remember being so happy for her when y'all finally were able to have Alex, and the same joy for Christian and Katherine.
I saw the kids recently at Seth's birthday party and they are absolutely beautiful.
Our thoughts have been with you throughout this difficult time. We will continue to keep you and your children in our prayers and hope that you are able to find peace.

David,
MY favorite verse in Amazing Grace is this one...
"Twas grace that taught my heart to fear and grace my fears relieved, how precious did that grace appear..the hour I first believed."
Our every thought and prayer are breathing your name and Angela's as well as your wonderful, faithful friends; and Alex, Christian, Kat, Diane, Teresa and Tiffany.
We love you,
Eugene and Debi
David,
I have followed Angela's journey throughout the last months and would like to leave a comment.
There are so few people who are blessed with true love, even for a brief moment. The love that is so apparent through the messages and comments over the past several months is beautiful and will shine forever. The courage, strength and dedication you have shared are so evident and are an inspiration for all.
I wish I had the privilege of meeting Angela. Reading what individuals have posted it is evident that she is and will always be a truly treasured person.
I believe that once she has returned to God’s embrace, that the heavens will shine a bit brighter now that a new Angel(a) has arrived.
God Bless,
Christine Kennedy
David,
You and your family are continuously in my prayers. It is my prayer that God wraps you in His love and comforts you today and in the days ahead.
I have followed Angela's and your path for many months through this blog. You and your family and friends have lovingly kept us abreast of your triumphs and challenges. Thank you for allowing us to share your journey through this medium and to love and support you, even at a distance. You have provided us with with a focus for our prayers to support you.
In Christ's Love,

Good Evening David and faithful friends,
I can tell that many will be sharing some wonderful stories with you. She has gotten around!!!
Honie will remember this, the three of us skipped classes at LSU and drove to Mississippi to sunbathe! Well, we were not too smart or at least I was not, and I used baby oil as sunscreen. Needless to say, my hall neighbor (Angela) and Honie had to take care of me b.c I was red as can be. A lesson learned!!!
Whisper to Angela that we had some wonderful times at Graham.
Praying for all of you. David, I hope you have a wonderful and peaceful night with your precious wife.
Love, peace and HOPE,
Lowry

Dear David,
I know this has been a very long arduous journey for you,Angela,Alex,Christian,& Katherine and your family,(extended family incl.) My prayer is for peace for all of you and no more pain for my dear sweet friend.
Angela & I worked together at an adult day car center in BR. I'll always regret not being able to attend your puppy dog's birthday party(this was before the real children :-) ). This is one of the many cherished memories of Angela that make my heart & face smile.
David, hold on to your faith as always. Know that you are forever in my prayers and heart.
Sincerely,
Mina Raymond
Good Morning,
Wishing all of you a wonderful day filled with renewed strength.
Love, peace and HOPE,

Good Morning David and Angela, and to the family and friends who keep vigil over them: may God bless you today and give strength and courage. I pray for each and every one of you to find strength and peace through the many blessings of Jesus Christ. I pray that as you sit by Angela's bed and love on her in her final hours that you will see the very hand of our Lord comforting her. Be strong all of you and know that soon she will be with the King.
In Christ
Pam
Wishing you all a peaceful day. May you all feel the warm calm presence of the angels sent to be of comfort to Angela.
Love to you all
Honie
Yes Lowry was really pink...we all decided baby oil was not an option for any of us ever again.
My thoughts and prayers are with Angela and all those who love her today. May you feel the power of God's love around you.
Love,
Charlotte
From black limos to sunbathing on the Mississippi... my goodness... Angela left no stone unturned!
I have so enjoyed the stories, and the prayers from “Angela’s family”, and am proud to be a part of it.
xxoo,
Jayne
David,
Just want you to know that we have continuously held your family in prayer since the beginning of this journey for you.
Having been there, I know just how it holds you up and gets you through the day, when we both know that never, never, could we do this on our own. The comfort of Jesus is amazing at these times. I always hold to my memory the very first time I saw Angela with you, her amazing smile and the twinkle in her eye just to be near you. Also the first time I met her, she had her Dad with her, and it was soo sweet how she doted on him, and to see the evident love that she had for him.
I am for certain that every person that God has put in the path of Angela Fluker's life, can say that they have been truly blessed..
Love,
Wendy
Many thoughts and many prayers from your friends at the Bank.

David,
Just talked with Diane and she told me that Angela was able to respond to you and Teresa this morning. How awesome! I treasure that for you and for Teresa. We love you with all our hearts and know that we are with you in spirit since we cannot be there in person today.
Love,
Debi
David,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. May God give you strength in this very difficult time.

David,
It is so super to know you and your family have so many loving, kind and considerate friends and family to support you in prayers and any other ways possible.
My prayer is that Angela will have peace and comfort and joy. May you have the comfort, peace and joy that you need and those beautiful children, too.
God will supply all of your needs. Many years ago my Daddy, who was just a few months from the end of his battle with cancer, answered my question. I knew he was in a lot of pain and completely aware of what was happening to him. I asked him how he could be strong and faithful, how he was making it. He said two things, one was for me to read Job. The other was that it is like going down a dark country road in your car. The headlight just show you enough to get down the road. You don't see all the way to the end of the road, you don't need to. However when you need to see further down the road God provides the light. That was more than 30 years ago and has continually helped me. I pray it will help you, too.
Please whisper to Angela that i love her.
Love,
Connie Howard

Sweet Dreams David and Angela,
I pray that the both of you have a restful night.

David, while we would love to be with you right now, we are busy readying Nick for a previously scheduled (and much needed) knee replacement surgery for next Wednesday. You, Angela and your family continue to be lifted to our Lord in prayer daily.
It's funny how things connect us all... I'm in the checkout line today at the grocery store and happen to comment to the gentleman in front of me as to his wonderful selection of desserts he had chosen to purchase. He explains to me that he is a social worker for Hospice and that he is headed there directly and planned to bring the dessert to the nurses there. Knowing how valuable each person is in the entire Hospice process, I thanked him for his service there and told him there is a special place in Heaven for him.
Before I realized it, I was telling him of Angela and the incredible journey you all have been through. Please know that you all are such an inspiration to every person that hears your story...those that know Angela and even those that haven't had that pleasure.
I wish I could be there....
with love,
Dawn & Nick
