Another Round of Chemo

Angela had another round of chemo today. She seems to be tolerating it well and her motor abilities continue to improve. Let's pray this is a positve sign. Angela and I enjoyed a movie today, Wild Hawgs, while the chemo IV was administered. It was nice to laugh given the circumstances. Angela is requesting a "Chick Flick" for next round. I welcome any chick flick movie recommendations, keeping in mind that I'll have to sit there and watch it too. Please no Hugh Grant movies!

Hey Angela!!!

Wow...you GO GIRL!!! I am praying so hard that all of these positive reports are the "baby" steps to your full recovery!!!

Thanks David for the updates. They are much appreciated.

I will say to the Lord, "My God, my refuge, my Rock in whom I trust." Psalm 91:2

I am trusting that he will give you the miracle that you need!!!

P.S.
Four expectant fathers were in a Minneapolis hospital waiting room, while their wives were in labor.
The nurse tells the first man, "Congratulations! You're the father of twins!"
"What a coincidence! I work for the Minnesota Twins baseball team!"
The nurse returns and tells the second man, "You are the father of triplets!"
"Wow, what a coincidence! I work for 3M Corporation!"
The nurse tells the third man that his wife has given birth to quadruplets.
"Another coincidence! I work for Four Seasons Hotel!"
At this point, the fourth guy faints. When he comes to, the others ask what's wrong.
"What's wrong? I work for Seven-Up!"

Hey Guys!
It's great to hear some humor in your voices! Glad that chemo is being tolerated and progress is begin made!

Of course, because of who I am, my FAVORITE chick flick (well, actually there are two!) is Pure Country with George Strait and the other one is The American President with Michael Douglas!

Oh well, just my "two cents" worth!

Love ya'll bunches and we're continuing the prayers.

Hey Ya’ll,

Glad yesterday went well. You were constantly on our hearts and minds all day.

Jacques woke up this morning and during our prayers we again prayed for Angela. He then said, “Mama, I know God is going to make her feel better today!”

I feel in my heart that the road is turning for you guys. It was a confirmation when I read last night’s e-mail mentioning your motor skills improving. Yea God!

Know that we are lifting you up each day, and look forward to seeing you when we come to BR in a few weeks. I think Jacques is the most excited to hug your neck! Well, Kevin and I are pretty fired up to do the same. :)

We are expecting snow tomorrow. I will make a snowball for you if we get it!

Jayne

Hey Angela!!

Hope your Thursday was as good as your Wednesday!! Praying that Chemo is doing exactly what it needs to do. The first round was just a practice and this is the real deal!!!

plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you a hope and a future." Jer. 29:11

Doctor, doctor. Every time I stand up quickly, I see Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy.
Ok, how long have you been having these Disney spells?

Angela,
With all of this cold rainy weather I am sitting here thinking about when we were little girls and how much we would enjoy your Mom's flap jacks on a night like this. Gosh, what I wouldn't give to go back in time to tell Mama Carville to cook me another one!!!! We need to get together and TRY to cook them for the kids. Of course, they won't nearly be as good as your Mom's.
Okay, just wanted to share my thoughts with you.

God Bless!

Love you bunches!

TGIF Miss Angela,

According to the "posts" this week was one of new/old adventures, new gains in movement, "new" chemo....

I know that all these positive signs will lead to the Christmas miracle you and David (and all your prayer warriors) so desperately want.

Have a great weekend. Enjoy...it is Mardi Gras season...

Love, peace and HOPE,
Lowry

P.S.
An elderly couple go to their doctor for a checkup. The man goes in first. "How're you doing?" asks the doctor. "Pretty good," answers the old man. "I'm eating well, and I'm still in control of my bowels and bladder. In fact, when I get up at night to pee, the good Lord turns the light on for me."

The doctor decides not to comment on that last statement, and goes into the next room to check on the man's wife. "How're you feeling?" he asks. "I'm doing well," answers the old woman. "I still have lots of energy and I'm not feeliing any pain." The doctor says, "That's nice. It sounds like you and your husband are both doing well.

One thing though - your husband said that when he gets up to pee at night, the good Lord turns the light on for him. Do you have any idea what he means?" "Oh No," says the woman, "He's peeing in the refrigerator again."

Hi folks,

Sorry I'm late today, had to drive to Alexandria and back in the rain! I was listening to our new Easter Music which is entitled "Amazing Grace, My Chains are Gone"...worshipped all the way there and back!

Had lots of private time to pray as I drove, too. At our meeting at the "Baptist Building" (State offices) you were lifted up in prayer.

love you much!

Debi

Dear Lord,

Give David and Angela and babies a good night's sleep. Wrap Your arms around them and give them a great weekend.

In Your Precious Name,

Amen

Happy Sunday,

As a new week begins, I can't wait till we hear that you are getting stronger and stronger and even better than that....the chemo did the job by destroying the monster!!!

A farmer is wondering how many sheep he has in his field, so he asks his sheepdog to count them. The dog runs into the field, counts them, and then runs back to his master.
"So," says the farmer. "How many sheep were there?"

"40," replies the dog.

"How can there be 40?" exclaims the farmer. "I only bought 38!"

"I know," says the dog. "But I rounded them up."

Q: Why do they say 'Amen' at the end of a prayer instead of 'Awomen'?
A: The same reason they sing Hymns instead of Hers!

Hello Angela and Family,
I want you to know that we are praying for you, especially at my Adoration hour on Wednesday mornings. Hayley gave me the news, and I've been praying ever since. If you're interested in some uplifting music ... check out Kitty Cleveland (she's a friend of mine in Mandeville, LA). We live in Houston now (for the past 5 years) but we go home when we get the chance. Stay strong, keep the faith, and you'll pull through this! God Bless You, Diane Dubroc and Family

Hey Angela! I spoke with David today and obviously I didn't try to get in touch with him persistently enough last month when we played phone tag for a couple of weeks.

I spent a good bit of my morning reading your blog and the friends and family who have responded with thoughts and prayers for you and your family.

I think everyone feels the same way: That God will decide what is best for you and your family. I think this blog shows how strong you are, even in the midst of these circumstances.

Jennifer, Ellis and I will keep track of your progress. The information you provided is greatly appreciated.

Stay strong and have a great weekend! Happy Mardi Gras!

The Ducote family will stay in touch.

P.S. Jennifer is cooking for you February 13th. She likes to cook out the box a little bit (I call it fufu food). Any suggestions?

TGIF Angela,

I am really homesick b.c. I cannot get home for Mardi Gras this year!! I hope you will be able to get out alittle to enjoy some festivities!!!

I just read this passage. It is great. Writing these to you, I hope not only lifts you up, but I get a chance to reflect on them for myself.....

Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name;
you are mine;
when you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.
when you walk through the fire, you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.
For I am the Lord, your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior. Isaiah 43: 1-2

Hope your day is going great and that you have a fun weekend.

Happy Super Bowl Sunday!!!

Hope your Sunday is going well and you are feeling stronger than ever!!! It is a dreary day in Chattanooga..I hope your day is a bright one!!

Hold Fast by Mercy Me:

Hold fast
Help is on the way
Hold fast
He’s come to save the day
What I’ve learned in my life
One thing greater than my strife
Is His grip
So hold fast

Will this season ever pass
Can we stop this ride
Will we see the sun at last
Or could this be our lot in life
Please do not let go
I promise you there’s hope
